# WORKSHOP 1 - “Pelvic Power” for Core Support

SATURDAY June 14, 2025 - 10h - 13h

This workshop will provide a fresh understanding of functional anatomy and the biomechanics of the pelvis and the pelvic floor. We will experience how the pelvic joints and pelvic floor coordinate to create efficient and safe movement. When we embody the key relationship between the hip-joint, lower back and pelvic floor, we experience its importance for force absorption and body coordination. We will learn dynamic pelvic floor exercises using balls and elastic bands to activate, tone and strengthen. Finally we will practice how to integrate it into daily life; sitting, standing, lifting breathing and walking.

Learn:

  • How to create pelvic alignment without effort
  • Exercises to create dynamic strength in the pelvic floor
  • Ways to improve ease of movement in the pelvis

# WORKSHOP 2 - “Imagery for Healthy & Strong Knees”

SATURDAY June 14, 2025 - 14:30h - 17:30h

The knee needs to remain flexible while supporting most of the body's weight. To meet this challenge the knee is an ingenious system with movable surfaces and an intricate web of soft tissues. This workshop focuses on the practical application of imagery techniques to increase knowledge and understanding of the knee. We will experience the bone -rhythm of the knee, image how the menisci moves, and track the various movements of the kneecap. What you gain from this workshop is a clear understanding of the design and function of the knee. This will allow you to have healthy movement and use of the knee, in all situations. Most knee problems arise from overuse with incorrect alignment, This can be corrected if you have the correct image of knee movement.

Learn:

  • Know how you can support your knees with imagery
  • Embody the 3 dimensional movement of your knees
  • Experience the movement of your menisci

# WORKSHOP 3 - “The Dynamic Abs” - Another Approach to Core Training

SUNDAY June 15, 2025 - 10h - 13h

We will take a fresh look at the concept of core training and understand the implications on aspects such as strength, flexibility and balance. Dynamic alignment means that alignment is maintained through balancing forces rather than through holding a fixed position. The whole point of the core idea is efficiency in movement, increasing both strength, balance, energy and longevity. The consequences of fixating or overtraining certain muscle groups, on aspects such as breathing, flexibility and bio-mechanical efficiency will be experienced and analyzed. Learn the different ways the body produces stability and the tell tale signs that the “core” is on.

Learn:

  • The essential core; finding dynamic stability
  • The sure signs that the core is “on”
  • What are functional abdominal exercises

# WORKSHOP 4 “The Mighty Psoas" – Muscle Complex Extraordinaire

SUNDAY June 15, 2025 - 14:30h - 17:30h

What is the ilio-psoas complex and what is it for? Apart from maybe being the Filet Mignon we pick out on the restaurant menu, it is unknown to most. The psoas major is unique in that it is the only muscle that connects our spine to our leg in the front of our pelvis. Due to its size and central location, it is a key element in biomotional efficiency. Starting with an introduction of how to work with muscles and imagery, we will proceed to touch the psoas, lengthen the psoas and walk from the psoas. We will be doing Franklin ball exercises to activate, balance and integrate the whole ilio-psoas complex. Pelvic alignment will have a whole new component and feel.

Learn:

  • The different functions of the 3 muscles of the Ilio-Psoas complex
  • How to walk from the Psoas
  • Experience the connection between the Psoas and the kidneys

25 & 26 November 2023 - Classes & workshops with Pilates Master Teachers Michael Fritzke & Ton Voogt

25 November 2023

Workshops - Wunda Chair -  Classical Reformer - On the Mat with Joe & the Elders (Part 1 & 2)

Michael and Ton are internationally recognized Pilates Teachers, presenters, educators, consultants, and innovators, and travel the world sharing their knowledge and experience. They were the last two people to do a true apprenticeship (no manuals or seminars) with Romana Kryzanowska. In 2000 Romana asked them to become Teacher of Teachers for her original International Pilates Certification Program in NYC. As Teacher Trainers and Supervising Instructors at the uptown Pilates Studio, Michael and Ton worked closely together with Romana and her daughter Sari Mejia Santo, training, guiding and testing hundreds of apprentices through the program. During this time they also collaborated with Physical Therapists at Performing Arts Physical Therapy in NYC.

Michael and Ton believe that Pilates is both an Art and a Science. It is an Art because it requires ability in execution and it is a Science because it is based on a systematic theory. It is this systematic theory, with concepts and principles, that is the common thread in all approaches, traditional and evolved.

Michael and Ton eventually left their positions at the Pilates Studio, and used their knowledge and experience to create and set up several customized independently owned and operated full Pilates certification programs internationally. Together they developed and created - the revolutionary TRIADBALL™ the first ball of its size created specifically for the Pilates method.

Their work today incorporates the work of all the Pilates Elders and their knowledge and experience of other movement and therapy modalities. In their private practice, they have worked with numerous A-list celebrities and are currently working with professional athletes from the NFL, MLB, NBA and PGA. As life long students Michael and Ton are currently in their advanced studies of Spiraldynamik® based out of Switzerland and are the representatives for Spiraldynamik® in the fields of Pilates and Fitness in the USA.
